Brainstorm Blog #2

For my Project 2 Exquisite Corpse Soundscape I am not entirely sure the focus or direction I want to take for my song but I am excited to play around with using Adobe Audition. I have never experimented with sound editing or making songs before so I am interested to see my design process for this project. After doing the Audition lab in class, I was interested in all the variety of sound effects that you can use to modify different sound clips, and am curious to explore them more when I am making my song. After watching the video of John Cage’s song in class on Wednesday and looking through the sound files from the Google folder I think there are a few options for the direction and style of song I can make.

One idea for a song  I think would be fun to make would be compiling a bunch of relaxing, soothing sounds that people have put into the folder. A bunch of the sounds from everyday life are loud, piercing, and obnoxious, and I think it would be cool to create a song with softer sounds to combat that noise and chaos of daily life and would be nice to listen to and play in the car or while you are walking to class. 

Another direction I have thought about for my song is creating a more upbeat, energetic song. I would like to find some of the faster, more rhythmic sounds from the folder to create a fast paced song. I think a song like this would be a good song to play while you are working out and lifting weights or going on a run.
